Internship Information

The Avista NAIA World Series Internship Program is designed to provide exceptional students interested in a career in sports with a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the operations of a championship tournament. Those selected will gain invaluable work experience through project assignments.

The internship begins prior to the tournament on Monday, May 20, 2024, and requires a commitment of 2 weeks, May 20 – June 1, 2024. Hours of operation are based on the events and day of tournament. Opportunities may be available in a variety of departments including but not limited to: Promotions, Tickets, Volunteer Coordinating, Social Media, and Facilities. All internship positions are paid and are based out of Lewiston, Idaho. This is a stipend internship of $550. Please note that housing assistance may be provided per approval.

Internship Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Promotions: Assist in the creation and application of pregame and in-game promotions. Possible promotions may include throwing t-shirts, Bat Day give-away, 50/50 raffles, poster distribution and Kids’ Clinic operation.
Tickets: Assist patrons with the sales and distribution of event tickets. Other duties may include helping fans find their seats, clearing the grounds between sessions, and getting the stands ready for gameday use.
Volunteer Coordinating: Help schedule and assist volunteers for various services at Harris Field. Areas include concessions, ticket taking, grandstands ushers, program sales, and hospitality room.
Social Media: Possible duties may include posting to social media, taking photos/video for various platforms, distributing game notes, posting game highlights, and helping with photos at the Kids’ Clinic.
Facilities: Assist in the setup and operation of the grounds at Harris Field. Possible areas could include setting up and numbering the chairs in the 1st & 3rd base stands, opening the gates each day, ensuring the grounds are clean, and providing an exceptional experience for fans, players, and coaches.

Internship Requirements

All Applications Must Meet the Following Criteria for Consideration

  • Current College Student
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Previous work experience (part-time, internship or volunteer) related to the department(s) of interest is strongly preferred
